Launch of the World Federation of Medical Managers

A meeting of invited international clinical leaders was held in the Council Chambers of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, Jockey Club Building, 99 Wong Chuck Hang Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong, on Saturday 4 September 2010 ahead of the RACMA-HKCCM joint annual conference. There were representatives from Australasia, Hong Kong, Canada, UK, Ireland, Italy and Indonesia at the meeting with apologies from USA, China and Canada. There was discussion about the proposal to form an international network of organisations representing the interests of medical leaders and managers e.g. a World Federation of Medical Managers® (WFMM) and with a commitment to enhancing medical leadership through support to develop leading practices that affect change in the quality of medical engagement in health services management. A further face to face meeting was held in conjunction with the SIMM conference in Rome on Saturday 16 April 2011.

2012 WFMM Annual Conference and Meeting

Members of the WFMM met in San Francisco, California, USA on 26 April 2012. The WFMM invited 50 medical leaders from around the world to attend its Annual Conference.

Presentations and discussions focused on medical leadership in implementing structural and financial reform, and on certification of leadership competency.
 

Memorandum of Understanding

The Steering Committee for the WFMM agrees to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the Establishment of the World Federation of Medical Managers.
